Family Therapy

Family Therapy is a place where everyone is heard, from the youngest member of the family to the oldest. The main of goal of family therapy is to identify the challenges facing a family, and making a plan to address them. Sometimes we work on developing new skills, at others, we cultivate a new perspective. In family therapy, if your child or teenager is the client, it might mean I advocate for their needs while also cheering on the parents so that the whole family can be successful.

Indication for Family Therapy

  • Constant arguing or no communication at all Everyone wanting to help, but nothing ever improving
  • Trauma or change that the family has gone through together that interfere in normal life
  • Anticipation of change (i.e. blending families, remarriages)
  • One member of the family needing specialized support (i.e. depression, anxiety, cutting, ADHD etc…)
  • Transitioning to a new life stage (i.e. new parents of teenagers or preschoolers)
